Economic Stimulus good for the economy, Paul Broun NOT - 8/28/2008

Paul Broun, Jr. continues to be out of touch

Today, the US Commerce Department reported that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose 3.3 % in the last quarter. The increase is attributed largely to the Economic Stimulus package signed into law last February. Paul Broun, representative of the 10th District, voted against the bill. Bobby Saxon had the following to say:

“This news again indicates that Mr. Broun was on the wrong side of an important issue for the voters of the 10th district. The Economic Stimulus package passed in the House of Representatives with greater than 90% approval. An overwhelming majority of Congress clearly understood that Americans needed help, but not Paul Broun.

“Congressman Broun has consistently proven that he fails to understand the basics of fiscal responsibility. He votes against giving the taxpayers of the 10th district their money back but he has no issue wasting their money to fund his campaign and his personal agenda. As I stated last February, taxpayers understand how to spend their money much better than Paul Broun, Jr.”
